Aniplex of America Announce Limited Edition Blu-ray Box Set and DVD Set for Fate/stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works Season One

-

Following their incredibly pricey import edition releases of Fate/stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works, Aniplex of America have announced that they will be making their own releases of the anime available in North America starting from August 25th 2015. It has been confirmed that the first season (Episodes #00-#12) will be available as an uncut Limited Edition Blu-ray Box Set and Standard DVD Set, and will come with both the original Japanese dub and a brand new English dub. This new dub is previewed in the trailer above.

Bonus content across both sets include textless opening and ending sequences on-disc. The Limited Edition Blu-ray set will also include an original soundtrack, a 24-page “deluxe” booklet and a collectible  Weis Schwarz PR Card while supplies last. It will also include a double-sided wrap for the Blu-ray case and a chipboard box featuring an illustration by Takashi Takeuchi (Original Character Designer). These 13 episodes will be featured across a total of four Blu-ray discs – which they claim will provide the “best visual experience”.

Aniplex of America have also announced a number of English voice cast members including: Bryce Papenbrook (Sword Art Online, Blue Exorcist) as Shirou Emiya, Mela Lee (Fate/Zero, DuRaRaRa!!) as Rin Tohsaka, Kaiji Tang (Kill la Kill, Magi: The Kingdom of Magic) as Archer, Kari Wahlgren (Fate/Zero, DuRaRaRa!!) as Saber and Crispin Freeman (Fate/Zero, DuRaRaRa!!) as Kirei Kotomine. It seems like where possible, they are attempting to retain the voice cast from their English dub of Fate/Zero.

When it comes to pricing, fans will be able to pick up the Limited Edition Blu-ray set at a still significant SRP of $219.98. The DVD set however (Which contains the 13 episodes across 3 discs) will be available for an SRP of $99.98.

Official Synopsis for Fate/stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works

Fuyuki City—a city surrounded by the sea and mountains becomes the setting for an ancient ritual. Seven masters are given control of heroic spirits in order to realize the mythical Holy Grail, which is said to grant its owner any wish. These heroic spirits or servants represent legendary heroes of various classes: “Saber,” “Lancer,” “Archer,” “Rider,” “Caster,” “Assassin,” and “Berserker.” Each master will enter into a contract with their chosen servant and battle the others to the death until only one pair remains… This is the “Holy Grail War.”

The young and capable mage, Rin Tohsaka, prepares for her long-awaited Fifth Holy Grail War to begin…With her servant Archer, Rin enters the Holy Grail War as the sole heir to the prestigious Tohsaka family after her father’s death. But when Shirou Emiya, a boy from Rin’s school, unwittingly becomes a Master and is fatally wounded in battle, she has no choice but to save him. With Shirou and his servant Saber, Rin sets out to strike down the conspiracies surrounding the Holy Grail War. Will the Holy Grail bless Rin and Shirou’s path towards victory or will they be cursed with defeat?
