Sentai Filmworks Bringing Studio Colorido’s ‘Typhoon Noruda’ to North American Anime Fans

While Sentai Filmworks have begun confirming which titles they will be working on out of Japan’s upcoming Spring 2017 season of anime, the company have also confirmed they will be bringing Studio Colorido’s fantasy adventure animated feature Typhoon Noruda to North American markets in the future.

Typhoon Noruda has been directed by former Studio Ghibli animated Yojiro Arai, for which this is his directional debut. The film also features character designs by Hiroyasu Ishida and music by Masashi Hamauzu.

Like with many Sentai Filmworks acquisitions, you will be able to watch Typhoon Noruda via select digital video-on-demand services first. This will be followed by a home video release sometime in the future.

About Typhoon Noruda

The film takes place in a middle school on a remote island. Shuichi Azuma, a dedicated student, suddenly quits the baseball team, which leads to a fight with his best friend, Kenta. When a storm hits their school one day, Shuichi meets Noruda, a mysterious girl with a strange necklace, who seems to be somehow connected with the typhoon. Who is she? More importantly, why does Shuichi feel the need to help her?
