Cinderella Girls Theater Anime Announced for 2017 Release

Shortly after the 2011 TV anime adaptation of The Idolm@ster aired, a spin-off ONA titled Puchimas!: Petit iDOLM@STER began airing – which was surprisingly licensed in western markets by Funimation Entertainment. It turns out that with the anime adaptation of The Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls finished (for now at least), a new spin-off anime detailing the colourful lives of these idols is in the works.

Known as Cinderella Girls Gekijou (シンデレラガールズ劇場) or Cinderella Girls Theater in English – this anime is set to begin airing in 2017. This is likely linked to the identically named 5koma comics, which are released via The Idolm@ster Cinderella Girl‘s app on a regular basis. As of writing there are 787 5komas created for Cinderella Girls, covering both the (currently) voiced and non-voiced characters.

Expect to hear more about this upcoming anime in the coming months.
