Aniplex of America Acquire Rights to ‘March Comes in Like a Lion’ and ‘Occultic;Nine’

-

With a new season of anime upon us, companies have begun announcing brand new acquisitions for titles they plan to simulcast and hopefully release in the future. In terms of Aniplex of America, they have chosen to recently confirm their plans to work with at least two new series: March Comes in Like a Lion (Sangatsu no Raion | 3月のライオン) and Occultic;Nine. Both titles are set to begin streaming via the CrunchyRoll video-on-demand service starting October 8th 2016 at 10.00AM PDT and 9.30AM PDT respectively.

March Comes in Like a Lion is based on the ongoing manga series created by Chica Umino, whose previous work includes Honey and Clover. This series is being directed by Akiyuki Shimbou, alongside the creative team at SHAFT – including character designer Nobuhiro Sugiyama and composer Yukari Hashimoto.

March comes in like a Lion is a gentle tale about people trying to regain something. And it is a tale of battle. 17-year-old pro shogi player who is burdened with deep loneliness. Rei lives alone in an old town in Tokyo, but after becoming acquainted with three sisters, Akari, Hinata and Momo, he begins to change little by little…

If its title doesn’t already give some indication, Occultic;Nine is based on the light novel series written by Chiyomaru Shikura, the creator of Steins;Gate. This anime is being animated by A-1 Pictures, with direction by Kyohei Ishiguro and Miyuki Kuroki.

The multitude of small, miniscule “discomfort” later develops into a case so large it is beyond imagination… Yuta Gamon is a 2nd year in high school. He runs “Kiri Kiri Basara,” an affiliate blog that rounds up occult forum posts, for a shot at quick money, and challenges himself to the occult night and day to “hack and slash away!” the many supernatural phenomena existing in the world from a scientific standpoint. However, with that blog of his as a catalyst, a group of downright maniacal and insane comrades have gathered about.
