Over the past couple of weeks, Australian anime publisher Madman Entertainment have been adding a handful of older titles onto their AnimeLab video-on-demand service. This includes the 2010 anime Asobi ni Iku Yo! (Aka. Cat Planet Cuties) and the older 2006-2007 anime Buso Renkin. After re-releasing the series on DVD last year, Madman Entertainment have confirmed that the full 26-episode series Angelic Layer is now available to view with both English (Premium Subscriber exclusive) and Japanese dubbing.
The Angelic Layer anime is an adaptation of the original manga written by CLAMP, who are most known for their works on series such as Cardcaptor Sakura and Chobits. It tells the story of a young girl named Misaki Suzuhara, who moves to Tokyo at the beginning of the story, and is almost immediately drawn into the popular battle doll game known as ‘Angelic Layer’. Creating her doll, known as Hikaru, she proves to be a rising newcomer – as she begins to enter professional tournaments.
For those preferring to watch the episodes officially online, you can check them out via AnimeLab HERE. Alternatively, if you can pick up all the episodes on DVD via the Madman Entertainment Online Store (Currently $39.95) or your local anime retailer should they have stock.
