Sentai Filmworks Acquire Rights to HaNaYaMaTa

-

North American anime publisher Sentai Filmworks have confirmed that they now possess the rights to HaNaYaMaTa in their supported regions. Adapted from the original manga from Sou Hamayumiba, this is a coming-of-age story focusing on Naru Sekiya, a normal girl living an ordinary life. However, a chance encounter with an American girl dancing in traditional Japanese dress under a starlit sky changes her life for ever. She had been waiting for that special someone who would one day take her from her everyday life, and now — led by this girl from another country — she takes her first steps into the extraordinary world that is yosakoi, a form of Japanese dance.

This anime adaptation has been directed by Atsuko Ishuzuka, with Reiko Yoshida providing composition and scripts. Character designs were drafted by Atsuko Watanabe, music was composed by MONACA and animation was provided by MADHOUSE.

HaNaYaMaTa is now available to view through select digital outlets, with a home video release to follow at a (currently unspecified) later date.
