Sentai Filmworks Acquire Rights to Chivalry of a Failed Knight

-

Adding a new title to their Fall 2015 season line-up, North American anime publisher Sentai Filmworks have announced they now hold the rights to Chivalry of a Failed Knight (落第騎士の英雄譚). This is an action fantasy anime series adapted from the original light novel work by Riku Misora.

This anime adaptation’s creative team include Shin Oonuma (Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya / WATAMORE) as director and Jin Tamamura (Invaders of the Rokujyōma!?) as series director. Shogo Yasukawa ()Food Wars!) is in charge of the seasons scripts, Sei Komatsubara is serving as character designer while Jin Aketagawa of Magic Capsule is the sound director. Animation studios SILVER LINK (WATAMOTE, Kokoro Connect, Yurikuma Arashi) and Nexus (Wakaba*Girl) are providing animation production.

Chivalry of a Failed Knight follows the story of Ikki Kurogane, a failing student at a prestigious school for Magic Knights. Ikki’s status as the “worst one” comes from the fact that he has no magical skills. Despite all this, it doesn’t stop the number one student in the school, Stella, from challenging him to a duel where the loser becomes the other’s obedient servant for life.

Chivalry of a Failed Knight is set to begin airing in Japan next month, and will be available in North America through select digital video-on-demand services. A home video release is planned to follow at a later, currently unspecified date.
