49d43e53df72fd330073987a7683d706_largeAfter announcing the launch of their Seven Seas Games division yesterday, Seven Seas Entertainment have confirmed the first project they have underway. Instead of working with one of the manga franchises they already hold the rights to, they have opted to work with the anime franchise Space Dandy – with the North American anime rights being held by Funimation Entertainment. They hope to bring some of the show’s space-faring antics from screen to the gaming table.

Dubbed “Space Dandy: Galactic Deck-Building Game”, this is a strategic card game in a similar vein to other deck-builders like Dominion and Ascension. The game contains over two hundred cards, forty star tokens, four player boards, one “orbit” board, and a full-color rulebook.

To get this game under way, Seven Seas Games have launched a $12,000 Kickstarter campaign, which as of this post has already surpassed its target with $13,959 USD raised. Offering pledge tiers of between $1 and $100, the lowest pledge required to pick yourself up a copy of the game is $50.00. A couple of extra sets including a double-pack, the Honey Limited Edition set (Containing a range of dandy swag) and the Honey+Dandy Limited Edition Set (Containing the Honey goodies plus a copy of Space Dandy Season One on DVD+Blu-ray) (Now out of stock) will set fans back $80, $90 and $100 respectively.
