Helmed by A1-Pictures, it has been confirmed that the anime adaptation of Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha ViVid will begin airing in Japan as of April 2015. This series will be adapted from the original manga series written by Masaki Tsuzuki and illustrated by Takuya Fujima, and will serve as the very first Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha TV series since 2007.
This series takes place four years after the events of Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS, and shifts the focus to Vivio Takamachi who has been adopted by Nanoha is now attends fourth grade primary school at St. Hilde Academy of Magic with her friends.
This announcement also came with the above commercial (Little more than a look at the new key artwork starting Vivio), and also announced a couple of new voice cast additions. The currently known Japanese voice cast is as follows:
Vivio Takamachi – Kaori Mizuhashi
Einhard Stratos – Mamiko Noto
Rio – Eri Kitamura
Corona – Misato Fukuen
Nanoha – Yukari Tamura
Fate T Harlaown – Nana Mizuki
In addition to the Japanese voice cast, Yuuki Itoh will head this project with Naruo Kobayashi serving as lead writer and Masaaki Yamano providing character designs.
The international release status of the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha franchise is shaky, with only the first two seasons ever licensed (By Geneon Entertainment) and dubbed into English. The third season (StrikerS and the movie adaptations have never been published outside Japan).
We shall see in the next couple of months if Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha ViVid manages to capture the attention of international anime localizers/publishers.
