While they may compete for the attention of Australian and New Zealand anime fans, all three major Australia-based anime publishers (Madman Entertainment, Hanabee Entertainment and Siren Visual) seem to have united around the AnimeLab streaming service.

Last week saw Hanabee confirm their acquisition of Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works, a series that myself and I am sure many others are eagerly looking forward to checking out. Episode Zero “Prologue”  is set to launch later on today via Hanabee’s own simulcast/VOD platform, with additional episodes going live each week.

However Madman Entertainment have also confirmed that it will be streaming Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works via their AnimeLab service. This is similar to the recent addition of The Devil is a Part Timer! and Angel Beats! from Siren Visual to the service. Is this the sign of more collaborations to come? Or alternatively, is this just an opportunity for fans to enjoy everything in terms of  “Fate” anime adaptations, with Madman Entertainment holding the rights to the original Fate/Stay Night, its OVA and Fate/Zero?

Irrespective of what VOD platform you choose to watch on, both are completely free for those who reside in Australia and New Zealand.
