Having successfully levelled up from being a “newbie” in the Australian anime industry and equipped with a new online streaming service, Hanabee Entertainment have been impressing recently with more acquisition announcements than usual in recent months. During their AVCon 2014 panel and surprise screenings this afternoon, Zi and Cameron took to the stage and announced six new acquisitions – three which will be headed to DVD / Blu-ray in October and three others which will be available via their website soon.

For those who have chosen to ignore the infographic above, Hanabee have confirmed that they will be publishing Valrave the Liberator, Watamote and Kabukimonogatari in Australia and New Zealand from October 1st, 2014. Those looking for the latest series from Japan will also be glad to know that the company have acquired Rail Wars! (Starting 21st July 2014), ALDNOAH.ZERO and the second season of Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya. Hanabee have also indirectly announced their acquisition of Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya Season 1, but all we have on its release at the moment is “Season 1 is coming!“.

Bios for all six series are available below:

Valrave the Liberator

A new age where 70% of the human population lives in space thanks to the development of “Dyson Sphere”, a city in space. The world is divided into two main powers: The Dorrssia Military Pact Federation, a power which grew out of a military alliance, and the Atlantic Rim United States (ARUS), which grew in power as it expanded its trade agreements. The minor nation of JIOR has declared neutrality between these two forces and maintains its peace through economic prosperity. Within the JIOR’s Sphere, Haruto Tokishima lived an ordinary life as a high school student in the division known as “Module 77”-until the Dorssian military begins their sudden invasion! But the whole world will be shaken when Haruto meets the mysterious humanoid weapon, Valvrave!

Watamote

At the tender age of 15, Kuroki Tomoko has already dated dozens and dozens of boys and she’s easily the most popular girl around! The only problem is that absolutely none of that is real, and her perfect world exists only via dating games and romance shows. In fact, the sad truth is that she gets tongue tied just talking to people, and throughout middle school she’s only had one actual friend. All of which makes Kuroki’s entrance into the social pressure cooker of high school a new and special kind of hell. Because while Kuroki desperately wants to be popular, she’s actually worse off than she would be if she was completely clueless as to how to go about it. After all, the things that work in “otome” games rarely play out the same way in reality, especially when the self-appointed “leading lady” isn’t the paragon she thinks she is. There’s not much gain and plenty of pain ahead, but even if it happens again and again, there’s always someone else to blame in WATAMOTE ~ No Matter How I Look at It, It’s You Guys’ Fault I’m Not Popular!

KABUKIMONOGATARI

On August 20th, on his way to delivering Mayoi what she had forgotten at his home, Koyomi encounters Yotsugi Ononoki, a familiar girl. Koyomi spends the day buying Yotsugi ice cream instead of doing what he originally planned to do. Unable to find Mayoi, Koyomi gives up and heads home and realizes that he has not done any of his summer assignments, even though tomorrow was the first day of school. With help from Shinobu, Koyomi travels back to the past so that he can finish them, but instead, they end up travelling back 11 years ago!

The date is May 13th, the day before Mother’s Day when Mayoi was killed in a car accident on her way to see her mother. Koyomi realizes that he can save Mayoi by changing the past, but what will be the outcome of his actions…

Rail Wars

In a world parallel to our own, Japan’s national train system is united under the illustrious Japanese National Railways. High schooler Naoto Takayama is one of many who dreams of someday becoming adriver at the JNR. When Naoto manages to snag a job as a trainee for the Railways Security Force, he thinks he’s finally on the fast-track to success. However, Naoto’s expectations are quickly derailed when he finds that he has trouble telling who’s crazier- his coworkers or the criminals he’s supposed to catch! But when RJ, a shadowy group with sinister motives, appears to seize control of the JNR, it’s up to Naoto and his motley crew to get things back on track. Will Naoto and the rest of the Railways Security Force be able to pull the brakes on RJ’s scheme, or will it be the end of the line not only for their team, but the entire JNR as well?

Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya

Illyasviel von Einzbern’s normal life is suddenly halted by the Kaleidostick Ruby, a magical wand on the run from her former master, who instantly decides that little Illya has all the right stuff to become the next great magical girl.  However, Ruby’s previous owner Rin Tohsaka isn’t exactly thrilled to be de-wanded, especially since she’s just accepted an assignment to collect the seven legendary Class Cards. It seems the only solution is for Illya to take up the task and learn the ropes under Rin’s supervision. Meanwhile, a girl named Miyu has been chosen by the Kaleidostick Sapphire as HER new master, much to the irritation of Sapphire’s previous master, Rin’s arch rival Luviagelita Edelfelt! Exactly what kind of plan are the wands conjuring up? Find out as the Fate/stay night universe “kaleids” with a healthy dose of magical girl mayhem inFate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya!

ALDNOAH.ZERO

War is coming….

The two powers will soon clash with one another and by military force, start killing each other. Humanity has clearly split into two and currently there is no way these groups will once again unite. Humanity celebrates this transient time of peace as they slowly dismiss from their minds the scars their ancestors bore in the past. No one realized that with one little push their world can fall to its destruction.

Just one little spark will do.

Preparations are steadily on its way.

Then we shall see the end to this false peace.

But, there are men who realize the approach of this inevitable war. Most of them are close to the military. Though, of course these men are well aware that they have no power to remedy this situation. For that is why they are deep in despair. Among the soldiers that I have had contact with, there were even men who were depressed when they realized the impending war. Even then, as far as the people of Shinawara City, I did not feel that any of them had any sense of danger. While in their minds, they knew that war was unavoidable but they could not help but to continue living each day as if nothing was changed. That is all I can say about that. Humanity has grown too used to this false peace.

Humanity does not go to war because they know that they possess a clear sense of justice within their troops. Also, they do not declare war because they are confident of their own victories. The reason man goes to war is simple. War exists simply because there are men who wish to wage wars.

We just need one simple reason.

For that reason, our plans are right on track.

There is no way of avoidance.

I will say it once more.

War is coming.
