North American anime publisher Sentai Filmworks have today confirmed that they have acquired the rights to upcoming anime series One Week Friends, also known as Isshuukan Friends or 一週間フレンズ. While episodes have yet to begin airing in Japan, episodes will be streamed digitally as they are made available in addition to an eventual home video release, most likely in 2015 or 2016.
This comedic high school drama is based on the work of original manga author Matcha Hazuki and features direction by Tarou Iwasaki (Sunday Without God, Another), series composition by Shotaro Suga (My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU, The Eccentric Family), art direction by Akira Ito (Bodacious Space Pirates, AKB0048), and animation production by Brains Base (Penguindrum, Amnesia).
