Kiniro Mosaic Greenlit for Second Anime Season

-

The official website for Japanese anime / manga franchise Kiniro Mosaic (Kinmoza!) has recently been updated to reflect confirmation that a second season for the anime series has been green-lit for production. At this point in time no further details have been confirmed, however expect to hear more in the coming weeks.

In addition to this announcement, there has been confirmation that there will be a special live concert event for the event dubbed “Hello Konnichiwa!!” (ハロー*コンニチハ!!) which is set to be performed by Rhodanthe* who performed the opening and ending themes for the first season. The event will be held on the 4th May 2014 at 5:30PM at Zepp Tokyo, with tickets now on sale.

While I haven’t got a review up for this series yet (I will once it has been physically published to the English-speaking Market), you can check out my review of Yui Hara’s charming artbook Himitsu no Kin’iro Mosaic which managed to walk away with my Reviewed Japanese Artbook of the Year 2013 award.

When Shinobu was still in middle school, she had the amazing opportunity to study in England while living with a host family as an exchange student.  And while that was several years ago and she still doesn’t do all that well in English class, Shinobu has had warm feelings for everything English ever since.  So when Shinobu learns that the daughter of her host family, Alice Cartelet, is coming to stay with her and study in Japan, she’s thrilled.

But will Alice be able to fit in with Shinobu’s Japanese schoolfriends, Youko and Aya?  And how will the arrival of Shinobu’s old rival Karen, who’s half-English and half-Japanese, affect the potential culture clash?  Every day is an adventure in international diplomacy and self discovery as a group of schoolgirls learn new lessons about each other and themselves in KIMOZA!
