Pokemon Anime Series to Be Released via Hulu Service

Trailer for Pokemon Origins

The Pokemon Company International have announced that a number of Pokemon animation episodes and specials will be available through the Hulu and Hulu Plus services, adding to the range of titles available on the Hulu Kids range of titles. While this doesn’t mean that every episode from the anime series which began in 1997 will be availble through the service, many of the newer episodes will.

Hulu Plus subscribers can now enjoy the following:

  • The first season of the Diamond & Pearl story arc (Season 10), with three additional seasons coming soon (Seasons 11–13)
  • The four-part Pokémon Origins animated special
  • The feature-length animated movie Pokémon: The Rise of Darkrai

Three other movies, including Pokemon: Giratina & the Sky Warrior, Pokemon: Arceus and the Jewel of Life, and Pokemon—Zoroark: Master of Illusions are set to launch later on Hulu Plus. Pokemon fans will also be able to catch the first two episodes from the recent animated season, Pokemon the Series: XY, which is based on the Nintendo 3DS exclusive Pokemon X and Pokemon Y video games.

If you are not a subscriber but reside in the US, you will still be able to enjoy the following for free:

  • The Pokémon Origins animated special
  • Five episodes from the first season of the Diamond & Pearl story arc

All episodes are now available through the dedicated Pokemon Hulu page.

This latest announcement unfortunately does not relate to anyone who like myself resides outside of the US.
