Sailor Moon would have been the first ever anime series I watched as a little kid, and while the “Americanized” English localization may be considered cringeworthy to some today – it provides a degree of nostalgia that few series have offered at least myself personally. While there is no word of any international re-release plans for the series, Anime Expo will be welcoming a number of the original English dub cast members to serve as guests of honour during their 2014 festivities.
To mark the 20th anniversary of the classic anime series, Linda Ballantyne (Sailor Moon – Seasons 3-4), Susan Roman (Sailor Jupiter), Katie Griffin (Sailor Mars), Karen Bernstein (Sailor Mercury – Seasons 1-2) and Stephanie Morgenstern (Sailor Venus – Seasons 1-2) will be descending upon the halls of the expo next year – taking part in a special Sailor Moon themed panel and autograph sessions.Who knows, the panel may lead to a company finally announcing to the world they have successfully negotiated rights for the series to grace modern home video formats.
