Following their success with the first 13-episode set of Magical Angel Creamy Mami, Anime Sols have announced that the newest title on their service is another magical girl series – Magical Idol Pastel Yumi.
While episodes are to begin streaming through their site each Monday starting from Episode 1, they are also aiming to crowdfund a DVD box set of episodes 1 – 13 by the 19th November 2013. To achieve this half-season box set they require a total of $18,000 pledged with a total of $960 pledged so far after 13 hours. Starting from $5 and working its way up to $250, they have a number of pledge tiers available with the first to contain the DVD available for $40. More information on each of the tiers can be found at the bottom of this post.
Containing a total of 25 episodes, Magical Idol Pastel Yumi features animation by Studio Pierrot (Whose recent contributions to anime include Tegami Bachi and Shirokuma Cafe). After getting into trouble with mean Mrs. Fukurokoji, Yumi is rescued by two flower fairies. They give her a magic wand and pendant as their gift to a child who cherishes flowers. But it turns out that not all problems can be solved with magic!
Neither streaming or pledging is available outside the US or Canada unfortunately. But if you do reside in the region and want to check out a few sample episodes or donate some money, click HERE.

This is the first time I heard of Anime-Sols. And from reading this, all I gathered is that you can watch streaming anime there and crowdfund DVD box sets. I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised then, that when I checked out their website, it says: “Welcome to Anime Sols! At Anime Sols, you can: 1. Watch Free Streaming Anime 2. Crowd-fund DVD Box Sets. Here’s How!” – lol.
Seems like a cool site. Glad I now know of it 😉
