While we internationally have just received the third instalment in Compile Heart’s Hyperdimension Neptunia video game series complements of Nippon Ichi Software America, in Japan fans are gearing up for not only an “idol game” on the Playstation Vita but also a fully fledged anime series: Neptune the Animation.
The above trailer is the first trailer for the anime series, and highlights that we should be seeing a title in a somewhat similar chronology to Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk.2 albeit with a greater focus on the CPU’s of Planeptune (Neptune), LaStation (Noire), Lowee (Blanc) and Leanbox (Vert) – with the CPU candidates (Nepgear, Uni, Rom and Ram) still present. As of yet there is no word if company characters such as Compa, IF, NISA, Gust etc will be present in the title.
While it is far too early for any company to announce international release plans, I think it would be highly unlikely that NIS America wouldn’t pick up the title for release.
