The Idolm@ster Franchise To Receive an Anime Film as Well

-

Since the franchise launched to arcades around Japan in 2005, The Idolm@ster by Namco has seen a strong reception and following and has since expanded over multiple video game releases, manga series, a plethora of soundtrack releases and anime series to name just a few. It was announced at the recent “The Idolm@ster Music Festiv@l of Winter!! event that they will be including a new animated film to the already sizable set of releases. The staff for this film will be more or less the same as their 2011 anime series. Expect to hear more on this title in the coming weeks and months.

To date, the only installment in the franchise which has been released internationally is Idolmaster: Xenoglossia, a sort of mecha-oriented story featuring many of the characters from the main video game series. It was licensed to Sentai Filmworks and has since been released as a Japanese dub only edition in North America.

The Otaku’s Study also has a review of The Idolm@ster 2 on the Playstation 3 which you can check out at the following link: The Idolm@ster 2 – Review
