It Seems Like Aussies May Need to Wait Until May 2013 For Persona 4 the Animation Blu-ray Volume 2 to Be Released

Unlike the North American release of Persona 4 the Animation, the Australian and UK blu-ray releases of the show have been split up into three installments. While this may sound more inconvenient for fans who want the series released quicker – fans of the Japanese dub get an added perk of having not only the best quality visuals BUT both English and Japanese dubs in their release. The first volume was released by Madman Entertainment in Australia last month – which earned itself a high score in my review of it (See: Persona 4 The Animation Volume 1 (Blu-ray) (Episodes 1-9) – Anime Review).

Madman Entertainment had previously planned to do the Blu-ray releases in individual two month apart installments – January, March and May 2013. Unfortunately you may have noticed that as they opened pre-orders for March and April 2013 titles there had been no listing for the second collection which comprises of Episodes 10 – 17. Well it turns out that (and while not final and may be released earlier), it is currently slated for release in May 2013 – whilst the final collection in the North American releases were made in January 2013.

Yu finds himself joining with a group of eight other teenagers in a desperate bid to solve the mystery. A mystery that is somehow connected to both the local weather patterns and a strange video game world which Yu, his friends and the enigmatic killer can all enter.

However when a new murder victim is discovered in Inaba without appearing on TV, Yu and the others are back to square one. Naoto Shirogane, boy detective, is brought in to help with the case. Can they solve these mysterious murders and tie it back into the mysterious world of the Midnight Channel?

That being said, the series is pretty enjoyable, and the recent Playstation Vita port of the game this series is based on recently earned itself the title of my “Game of the Year 2012”.
