Higurashi Outbreak Short-Story to Receive Anime Adaptation Next Year

Higu3 Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai Part 2 (Episodes 14 24) Review

After Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kira you might have been wondering if any further releases in the anime series would be distributed, given there still remain a wealth of arcs found in the games, manga and other mediums that haven’t received an adaptation despite many episodes in Kira being anime-exclusive. According to a recent post on the Higurashi anime Twitter page HERE, we can expect to see a new anime release in 2013.

The next anime series will focus on the short style Higurashi Outbreak which was originally released on the original soundtrack of the video game Higurashi Daybreak.

The first season of Higurashi was licensed in North America by Geneon Entertainment however has since been discontinued. On the other hand, Australian anime publisher Siren Visual have not only published the first season but are also distributing the second season of the anime (Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai) as a subtitled release.
