New Anime/Manga Titles for September 2011 in Australia

With only a number of months left in the year, both Madman Entertainment and Siren Visual are pulling out all the big titles for the remainder of the year with both DVD and Blu-ray titles, single volumes to collectors editions. Both Siren Visual and Madman Entertainment reviews for this month will be out, hopefully starting today – however until then, you can start thinking about your purchases from this handy list.

Otonashi Yuzuru has one memory: he died. He’s stuck in a high school of the afterlife, his own surreal purgatory with two choices: give up his connection to life and submit to his fate… or fight against God! If he chooses the latter option, the Shinda Sekai Sensen (SSS) is here to help – they’re here to see that your untimely death is avenged. One problem though: Angel, the president of the school council. Throw in an all-girl rock band called Girl’s Dead Monster, buckets of blacker than black comedy, more weapons than you can handle and you’re only half-way to heaven…but you’ve still gotta get through hell!

Imagine if the internet was ‘projected’ over the living world and you interacted with it using a portable device – glasses and visors which connect you to an augmented reality. In 2026, this technology becomes reality… Yuko Okonogi moves with her family to Daikoku, home of an ever expanding tech network which makes up the interactive virtual world. Her grandmother runs an agency to investigate missing children who appear to have vanished from the ‘real’ world and entered the city’s Dennou – literally meaning “electric brain” – a term used to differentiate between the virtual and ‘real’. A hacker culture is emerging amongst the children of the city. Yasako is soon introduced to Isako, whose powers for hunting computer viruses known as ‘illegals’ belie an agenda that might have sinister motives.

As the Light Music Club rehearses for their performance at the school festival, they realize that they’re not officially registered as a club. They need to quickly find a faculty advisor, but that’s not something that a little blackmail can’t fix. As their new club advisor, Miss Yamanaka coaches Yui to become the frontman of the band and pushes her to the point of losing her voice. Mio is forced to be the lead vocalist in her stead, but can she overcome her stage fright?

Continuing where the first series left off, it follows Kraft Lawrence a experienced traveling merchant and his sharp tongued wolf god companion Holo on their journey to return to Holo’s home to the north called Yoitsu. A tender relationship has blossomed between the characters, as they make deals, travel between cities, encounter religious fanatics or vice versa and mostly just do what a traveling merchant has to do to get by. 

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood Collection 5 (Ep 53-64)

Mobile Suit Gundam 00 the Movie: A Wakening of the Trailblazer
