Fans of the Metal Gear series will be able to pick up Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance later this month, a spin-off from the well-renown Metal Gear Solid franchise which replaces the stealth action genre with the ‘hack and slash’ genre. But while there are only a few weeks until launch, publisher Konami still have a few announcements up their sleeve. Dalton Link, social media manager at Konami took to the US Playstation blog and announced new exclusive missions for the Playstation 3 edition of the game.
The missions focus on VR Missions, a returning element from previous Metal Gear games. Inspired by the original Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions, this exclusive release will include 30 all-new missions to the game which feature the classic virtual reality aesthetic and appeal to them and is what they hope will encourage you to push Raiden’s cyborg body to its limits.
Featuring a mix of combat training, tactical maneuvering, stealth-based approaches and more, these missions will both provide practice in which to hone your skills in original stages not seen the in the game’s campaign, and feature an eclectic mix of challenges that any veteran of METAL GEAR SOLID 2: Substance or METAL GEAR SOLID: VR Missions would come to expect. And, in an interesting twist, you’ll be able to take control of the much loved/hated Dwarf Gekko in the VR Missions.
