Namco Bandai File for Trademark "Time and Eternity" - Possibility of Upcoming Announcement for Tokitowa? 1

Last year saw the Japanese release of Tokitowa (Also referred to as Toki to Towa / Time and Eternity), a video game release collaborated between Namco Bandai, Imageepoch and Satelight. In September 2012 it was hinted by Ryoei Mikage, CEO of Imageepoch that they had plans for an English localized release (See: Tokitowa May See An International Release Next Year) but since then…. nothing. Until now….

A recent post on Siliconera has found that Namco Bandai Game last week filed a trademark for ‘Time and Eternity’ in Europe. Time and Eternity is the English localized title of the game and one I have referred it as since the game was first teased. If these trademarks are anything to go by then we might be seeing a couple of interesting and unique releases to our market this year – from Time and Eternity to The Idolm@ster: Shiny Festa.

Tokitowa was an ambitious project which hoped to limit the differentiation between anime-style cutscene and actual gameplay – in other words attempting to carry the anime visual experience through everything from story scenes to battle sequences.

Let’s hope we hear more on this soon… but until then check out The Otaku’s Study archives on the game HERE.
