In addition to their extended trailer featuring a brief battle scene against previous protagonist Noel (See: Take a Look at This Extended Trailer for Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII – The Return of a Familiar Face…. But Perhaps Not in a Way You Would Expect), Square Enix has released a brand new set of screenshots for Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII.
These screenshots not only feature some basic battle screenshots and a look at Luxerion (The Divine City of Light and one of the four regions of Nova Chysalia) but also a newly announced character Lumina. Lumina (Who looks oddly familiar to a certain previously playable character) is a mysterious girl whose unpredictable nature wreaks havoc everywhere she goes – and is set to potentially be friend and foe to Lightning during her adventure.
In addition to these screenshots, they have also provided a look at two of the many costumes Lightining will be able to acquire during her “13 Days” adventure – “Dark Muse” and “Shadow’s Dust”.
Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy is set for release in Fall 2013 (Spring 2013 in Australia) and is set to be the final game in the trilogy component of the Fabula Nova Crystallis Final Fantasy series which also encompass Final Fantasy Type-0 and Final Fantasy Versus XIII.
