Last year saw anime blogger Kiddtic hold the inaugural ‘AniBlogger’s Choice Anime Awards’, where everyone who reviews anime can list their favorite anime series in order to determine which ones released in that year were collective favorites. For those who have not heard of this before, the following are the winners for last year:
Most Underrated: Ikoku Meiro no Croisee (Croisee in the Foreign Labyrinth) which I have since reviewed HERE.
Licensor of the Year: Funimation Entertainment and Aniplex USA
English-localized Release of the Year: DuRaRaRa!!
3rd Place: Steins;Gate
2nd Place: Usagi Drop
1st Place: Puella Magi Madoka Magica
Given most of my anime reviews are based on physical media releases in Australia and North America which are often not released the same year as their initial Japanese airing, I will not be doing my own “Best Japanese Anime Release of the Year” post. Therefore while things may change between now and then, I am announcing my plans to tag along with everyone else who is taking part in this event for a second year.
I envision titles included in my list will mostly be those that have been picked up and subsequently simulcast outside of Japan this year. If you are interested in reading the rules for this event or taking part yourself, check out the following post on Kiddtic.com “Ani-Bloggers Choice Anime Awards Rules For 2012“.
Damn Its Scary how much alike me and Sam are.
