There are more playable characters set to appear in Tales of Xillia 2, but unlike many of those before them they are not returning playable characters but characters which have been promoted from NPC to Playable status. Famitsu.com have recently shared a small set of screenshots for these characters which you can see below:
The first new playable character is Gaius, the King of Liese Maxia which this story takes place in and the one who appointed Rowen in his role as Prime Minister.
The second new playable character who looks like she will be standing out a bit on the battlefield is Muse, the older sister of Milla.
In addition, these screenshots highlight two other characters who are set to be only storyline characters. Ridou (Pictured to the left) is a doctor at the Clanspia Company and holds a number of medical-based patents. In exchange for money he is believed to be performing unauthorized and unethical medical treatments. Pictured to the right is Kronos, who alongside Origin and Milla Maxwell is considered one of the three great spirits. While shrouded in mystery, he is the guardian of the land of Canaan.
