XSEED Games and Acquire have today announced that they are hosting a fan music contest for their upcoming music strategy title Orgarhythm for the Playstation Vita. The contest will give fans and aspiring musicians the opportunity to have their own original tracks featured as part of a free downloadable add-on to the game after it ships later this year.

Fans can submit their tracks from today to October 1st by posting their submissions to YouTube and submitting the link at the official contest website HERE. Submissions can be of three lengths: one minute, three minutes, or 4.5 minutes. Music must be the applicants’ own original work. The submission page can also be found from within Orgarhythm’s newly launched product page at HERE. Up to 100 winning submissions will be added to Orgarhythm as background music and distributed as DLC post-launch. Furthermore, winners will also receive a code to download a full copy of Orgarhythm via the PlayStation Network. XSEED Games will begin confirming winners in October 2012.

Orgarhythm is a unique title that combines the strategic elements of an RTS game with the speed and coordination of a music rhythm game. Troops, formations, and temporary enhancements are each assigned through rhythmic button presses on the PS®Vita Touchscreen, which level-up your characters when performed successfully, and level them down when presses are mistimed. Playing as the God of Light, players will battle the forces of the God of Darkness by guiding elemental soldiers and issuing rhythm-based attacks synced to a hypnotic mix of rock, club, and tribal music. In the game, rhythm is a weapon and different attacks occur on different beats, making the game’s catchy soundtrack dynamic to user input.

Orgarhythm is currently under development in Japan by ACQUIRE in conjunction with Neilo, the new studio founded by Takashi Hirai who is best known for his past work on Space Channel 5 and Rez. XSEED Games will publish Orgarhythm exclusively on the PlayStation Store on Playstation Vita system in North America later this fall
