Sentai Filmworks, a North American localizer and publisher of anime titles have recently announced a whole pile of anime acquisitions which they intend to release via digital outlets soon and/or through physical releases in the near future. These titles including:
The story centers around Ryūta Sakamoto, a NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) young man and a top-ranked player in the online combat game Btoom! One day, he wakes up on a tropical island without remembering how he got there. He sees a figure in the distance and asks for help. However, the figure responds by throwing something at Ryūta — a “BIM” bomb. In that moment, Ryūta comes to realize two things: one, his own life is in danger, and two, he is now in the world of Btoom!
The slice-of-life battle story is set in a future that has neither World War III nor an alien invasion — just an ordinary future set after our current age. In this world, robots are part of everyday life, and they contribute in various aspects of society. “Shinki” are 15-centimeter-tall (about 6-inch-tall) cute partners made to assist humans. Equipped with intelligence and emotions, they devote themselves to serving their “Masters.” These Shinki can even be equipped with weapons and armor to fight each other.
Such Shinki are named “Busou Shinki” (literally, “armed divine princesses”). In particular, the Shinki Ann (Arnval), Aines (Altines), and Rane (Altrane) serve a high school freshman named Masato. Things change when a new Shinki, the bellicose Staarf, joins them.
An OVA of Highschool of the Dead bundled with the 7th manga volume. Komuro and the gang stumble upon a deserted tropical island that looks to be free of zombies. They make use of this wonderful opportunity and dress up in skimpy swimsuits and have lots and lots of fanservice fun.
About one thousand years into the future, civilization has been retrograded and humans are living dispersed within small communities. People in this era have a psychic power called “Juryoku” which materializes things they imagine. In the absence of advanced scientific technology, people are using this power as a major source of energy. One day, a girl called Saki, along with her friends, finds a small archive robot outside the town. It records the ancient history of humans.
It tells them that Juryoku was found in the 21st century and the discovery caused a world war between psychics and non-psychics. The psychics won this war and thus their reign of terror began. When the adults in town figure out that the children discovered this forbidden knowledge, they seal their Juryoku and exile them. Saki and the others end up in a forest where they meet a huge hairless bipedal mouse known as a “Bakenezumi” and get involved in a violent war the creatures are currently engaged in.
When he was young Shirou had lost his parents in a large and unexplained fire. He was rescued and later adopted by a man named Kiritsugu Emiya who revealed himself to be a magus, a person capable of using magic. Through their conversation, Shirou learns of his foster father’s failed life ambition to become a ‘Hero of Justice’, a guardian of mankind who could protect the weak and innocent. Touched by Kiritsugu’s conviction, Shirou affirms to his foster father that he intends to devote his life to achieving that distant ideal. To do this, Shirou pleads with a begrudging Kiritsugu to teach him magecraft, but Shirou proves to be talentless in almost all the fundamental magecraft disciplines.
One day however, he witnesses a conflict between two unbelievably powerful beings and inadvertently summons one of his own in order to protect himself. He then finds out that this conflict, known as the ‘Holy Grail War’, involves a series of battles among seven ‘Masters’. Masters are magi who can summon ‘Servants’, Heroic Spirits from throughout time, to fight for the possession of a relic that will grant one’s wishes, the Holy Grail. This story revolves around Shirou and his entanglement in the Holy Grail War along with his own personal battle to uphold his ideal.
The fourth season in SHAFT’s Hidamari Sketch anime series. All previous seasons have been licensed by Sentai Filmworks so this remains no surprise.
