Sony Computer Entertainment Australia have today sent around a reminder that LittleBigPlanet, the Playstation Vita version of the original Playstation 3 / Playstation Portable releases of the series will be released on store shelves from the 20th September 2012 – or Thursday. This comes with a recommended retail price of AUD $54.95. They have also announced a Special Edition LittleBigPlanet Vita bundle containing a voucher to redeem the game, a 4GB memory card and a Wi-fi model Vita unit for AUD $349.95

If you are interested…. then I am sure there is a good chance you would already know that information right? Well, in addition, to celebrate his Australian launch onto the Playstation Vita, Sackboy is in preparation mode for his biggest little adventure yet!

Next month, our beloved hero will turn “hessian-naught”, and embark on his world first journey to near space.  Attached to a meteorological balloon and set to launch from Australian soil, Sackboy will journey towards the Earth’s “Sackosphere” where he’ll get a perfect bird’s-eye view of our own little big planet. This October, PlayStation Australia will call on all community fans to play a part in Sackboy’s journey.

With a new digital and social campaign, PlayStation will first invite fans to ‘create’:  the gravity-rush defying astro suit that will be physically made and worn by Sackboy on his epic Aussie voyage. Fans will then be asked to ‘play’: supported by a range of clues, community players will be offered the opportunity to drop a pin on their estimated landing spot for Sackboy, for an opportunity to win a LittleBigPlanet prize pack.

To take part in and follow Sackboy’s journey is easy. From early October, visit the ‘Sackboy: Project (Near) Space’ tab, via the PlayStation Australia Facebook page, and join other fans in the countdown to LIFT OFF!
