Yakuza 5 Screenshots – In Fukuoka and Hokkaido

Sega and Studio Yakuza have released the latest batch of screenshots in their upcoming Playstation 3 release of Yakuza 5 – also known as Ryu Ga Gotoku 5 in Japan. Unlike previous games, the storyline and gameplay has spread out from the normal location of Kamurocho and will instead take part in five different locations around Japan – Sapporo, Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka and Nagoya. These latest screenshots focus on Fukuoka where series main character Kazuma Kiryu now resides, and Hokkaido where Yakuza 4 (and now 5) playable character Taiga Saejima now resides.

The screenshots introduce several new characters including:

Mayumi

A female who lives with Kiryu and is the number one hostess at a club in the Nagasugai district in Fukuoka.

Youtaro Nakajima

The president of the taxi company Kiryu works for and a veteran of the trade with over 30 years experience under his belt. He meets Kiryu half a year before the events of the game drunk, and decides to hire him due to his manly spirit.

Tadashi Madarame

The head of Nagasugai’s yakuza group – and one who prefers to resolve conflicts through dialogue instead of fighting. Given the screenshots, it seems like he knows Daigo Dojima – brother of Kiryu and 6th Chairman of the Tojo Clan.

Shigeki Baba

A fellow prisoner of Saejima who was moved to the prisons in Hokkaido a year prior to the events of the game. Currently has one of the longest prison terms due to being convicted of a murder he committed for his brother.

Seiji Kousaka

The second in command of the prison Saejima is being held in. Harsh towards all prisoners under his command.
