While there was slight hope yesterday that there would be more than this one announcement, Square Enix have today confirmed that the 7-day countdown they recently teased was in relation to an iOS port of The World Ends with You (Subarashiki Kono Sekai), from its original Nintendo DS release.
This will not be a direct port but includes a brand new set of music, the same combat system with improvements across the board, improved visuals and the ability to “Tweetify Shibuya” and exchange profiles with other players.
The game is due for release on the 28th August 2012 (Tomorrow!) for both the iPhone and iPad. The iPhone version will set you back $17.99 / 14.49€ / 12.99£ while the iPad version is slightly pricier at $19.99 / 15.99€ / 13.99£ for iPad.
While this isn’t the news many fans would have been hoping for, if you have yet to check out this release and have not been able to find The World Ends with You on store shelves… now is your opportunity.
