The Characters of Osaka in Yakuza 5

Sega and Studio Yakuza have released the latest batch of screenshots in their upcoming Playstation 3 release of Yakuza 5 – also known as Ryu Ga Gotoku 5 in Japan. Unlike previous games, the storyline and gameplay has spread out from the normal location of Kamurocho and will instead take part in five different locations around Japan – Sapporo, Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka and Nagoya. These latest screenshots focus on Osaka where series recurring and now playable character Haruka Sawamura, and returning playable character Shun Akiyama now reside.

Alongside these two returning characters, the screenshots detail four new characters who will impact either or both of them:

Mirei Park

The president of Dynachair, a talent agency in Osaka that Haruka joins. Due to difficulties faced in the past, she was unable to rise to her dream of becoming an idol however after a fated meeting with Haruka, she decides to train her up to achieve her goals of winning the Princess League within six months.

Mai Sanada

Member of the idol group T-Set which aims to win the Princess League idol tournament and serves as rivals to Haruka.

Azusa e1344437030536 The Characters of Osaka in Yakuza 5

Azusa Osawa

Alongside Mai Sanada, is another member of the idol group T-Set and is known for her appealing smile which wins the support of her fans.

Katsuya e1344437153636 The Characters of Osaka in Yakuza 5

Katsuya Naoki

Head of the largest talent company in the Kansai Region, Osaka Talent. There is some talk about him having ties to the yakuza however… something which given the focus of this game may be of some focus in this title.
