Originally picked up by Geneon Entertainment in North America before the company ended its localization and distribution of anime series several years ago, Ayakashi: Samurai Horror Tales has not been re-picked up by any company for re-release since then.
Australian anime publishers Siren Visual have announced that following their recent releases / soon-to-be releases of the darker anime series Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai and Shiki, they have picked up the license to distribute Ayakashi: Samurai Horror Tales. There is no confirmed release date as of yet, but hopefully that will come along soon.
We’re pleased to once again bring you work by Kenji Nakamura (C For Control, Welcome to Irabu’s Office, Mononoke), who directs one of the story arcs here.
