The Persona universe is not unfamiliar to the mobile social game market, having seen a couple of releases in the past including Persona Mobile Online in 2009, Persona 3 Escape and even Persona 3: Social. Many of these have a trend that they are either based on or remain similar to the world of Persona 3. The latest announcement by Index brings the social game to the GREE platform.
Due for release in late-September, Persona 4: The Card Battle goes from an RPG-esque battle system to a card battle system, where you have to collect Persona cards and face them off against one another.
Given the very poor uptake of these sorts of games to the international market in the past, I would not be getting my hopes up for ATLUS USA to do an English localized release.
