It has been about a year since Madman Entertainment released Strike Witches on DVD to Australian audiences, bringing with it the cute girls, wielding big guns in a world where females wore no pants. Similar to what they have done with several of their 2011 releases including Sekirei and Black Butler, they have deemed the series profitable enough to have it see a Blu-ray release in the near future.
The second season of the show has been acquired by the company as announced at the SMASH! anime convention a few weeks back, however there is no word on when that will be released. These follow on from Funimation Entertainment’s releases to the North American market, where a Blu-ray release for season one is slated for this month and Season 2′s release is currently pending.
