While initially due for release on the 19th of this month (Next Thursday).. Siren Visual, a publisher of anime to the Australian market and a source of several Aussie English-language exclusive titles have announced through their website and official Facebook page that their copies of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai Part 2 have arrived early and have been sent off to those who have pre-ordered the series (Incidently, at least the first part netted them their highest number of pre-orders to date).
For those who are attending the Sydney Manga and Anime Show (SMASH!) today and have not pre-ordered themselves a copy, from what they have said through Facebook there should be copies for sale. Not attending? Expect to see them on store shelves very very soon!
The bigger question is… where will Siren Visual take the series from here? Will they license the (In my opinion) rather lackluster OVA sets of Rei and Kira? Will they jump into When They Cry 3 and begin publishing Umineko no Naku Koro Ni? Will they do neither and pick up some other series to release? Too early to say and of course until the announcements, anime companies tend to be zipped lipped… but keep an eye out for their announcements through their official websites and of course, here.
