“Where do babies come from?”, a question that has a different answer in this game than in real life
Game development studio Spike have recently unveiled further details on their dungeon crawling RPG Conception: Please Give Birth to My Child, which I have described in previous articles as a game about raising “Star Children” with the games various female cast members in order to save the land of Kegare from its impending doom. There has been much debate around the action “Conception” component to the game… but given this is not an eroge game by any means you will be pleased to know it has a completely unique concept to birth.
There are a total of 12 female “companions”, who seem to represent the twelve signs of the zodiac, along with your cousin who I am not actually sure if you can do this process with her. You make these babies through collecting KP Points, which increases as you raise their affection for you – along with exploring dungeons and other means. Higher KP =’s stronger party members. Now when deciding to breed with your female “companion”, you place your spirit in one of a number of Matryoshka dolls, which depending on its type will grand the child special abilities from resistances to certain elements to stat boosts. These can be collected in dungeons.
Once this process is actually completed, you will be able to select from one of a number of character classes (Including Fighter, Thief, Monk, Archer, Magician, Cleric and uh… Merchant), along with its stats which are a collection of ATK, Technical, Defense, Speed, Magical Attack, Magical Defense and Luck. Depending on the “mother”, you seem to also gain some stat improvements.

Also unveiled were a couple of sets of character artwork and game screenshots, the first being head portraits of the games female cast, which I have added below:
Character names (in order – direct translation in Romaji): Arii, Farun, Femiruna, Mahiru, Mirei, Reone, Ririi, Ririsu, Ruka, Suu, Tarua, Yuretto, Yuzuha
Also unveiled were the character portraits for the games main character classes – which are as follows:
and finally, here are some new screenshots, most of which relate to the information revealed above.
The game is due for release on the Playstation Portable late next month in Japan. While I still have my doubts of ever seeing an English localization… the recently released information above gives me a very small glimmer of hope for a potential release.
