The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim could easily be called one of Bethesda Softworks biggest and greatest game releases with the number of perfect scores the gaming community has been giving it over the last couple of months. Bethesda Softworks and ZeniMax Media last week announced a Creation Kit for the game, a free tool that allows PC players to create their own custom content for the game – one of the perks and reasons why I will only purchase their games on the PC. The kit has been enthusiastically been adopted by the gamers and mod creators alike who have been downloading, uploading and installing custom files through the Skyrim Workshop on Steam.

Within a week of release, gamers have now downloaded more than 2 million mods from a selection of over 2,500 mods already released by the community in this period of time. This is no surprise given the reported revenue generated by the game, which made it the second best selling game of 2011 with continuously strong 2012 sales.
