Remedy Entertainment Sit Down and Do Their First Developer Diary of Alan Wake: American Nightmare

Long time readers will no doubt know that the original Alan Wake game released on the XBox360 in 2010 received my “Game of the Year 2010″ award for its clever writing, intreguing gameplay surrounding “Light and Darkness” as well as the obvious effort that was put into making it a stellar game. Remedy Entertainment recently had the development team sit down and do the first of what hopes to be a number of developer diaries for Alan Wake’s American Nightmare, giving fans the chance to get some information directly from the development team and get to see some exclusive footage. I will be openly honest with you…. I am not looking forward to this title as much as I would have Alan Wake 2 and feel that by adding a sort of XBox Live spinoff title will really detract from what could be considered a cliffhanger in the Final DLC chapter for the original game.

This developer diary discusses the game and its modes generally, for example outlining just a little bit more about what the new Arcade mode is about, basis for the plot and gameplay in the main story mode and other bits and pieces I think you would be better off listening to yourself. Unfortunately they do not cover everything in too much depth given it is only three and a half minutes in length… but gameplay footage is plentiful! You won’t have to wait too much longer for its release, with is due to hit the XBox Live Arcade on the 22nd February 2012 exclusively for the XBox360.
