A short while ago Capcom, a developer and publisher of video games announced that Dragon’s Dogma, an open world action game due for release on both the Playstation 3 and XBox360 gaming consoles will be released in North America on the 22nd May 2012 and in PAL regions from the 25th May 2012.
The release has also been announced to come with a packaged Resident Evil 6 demo token which will allow you to sample the game prior to its release on the 20th November 2012. The demo will go live to XBox360 version owners 60ish days (July 3rd) earlier than the Playstation 3 release which will be made available on the 5th September 2012. Given it is a bonus actually doesn’t sound all that appealing given Playstation 3 game purchasers would have to wait to use the bonus code for no particular reason. Of course, this is a minor issue…
The following is a brief blurb on the game:
Dragon’s Dogma introduces an innovative team system to the genre. Known as Pawns, these three AI partners fight independently, demonstrating prowess and ability they have developed based on traits learned over time from the player and their actions. By utilising the Xbox LIVE online entertainment network or PlayStation Network players will journey to the Rift where they can share their own Pawns with friends and be rewarded with treasure, knowledge of the world and strategies for taking down enemies. Conversely, players can borrow friends’ Pawns with the specific skills or experience required to tackle a particular quest. In addition, Dragon’s Dogma will ship with thousands of ready-made Pawns for players to pick their allies offline.
Interested in pre-ordering the game? Love goodies? Capcom have also come up with a number of Pre-order bonus packs which contain the following in each:
Pawn Upgrade Pack’ Will give players additional Rift Crystals allowing them to rent higher level experience Pawns from the outset. The ‘Armour Upgrade Pack’ and ‘Weapon Upgrade Pack: Delivers higher level armour and weapons respectively giving players a real advantage when tackling the toughest of enemies.
For more information on availability contact your local retailer. The game will also be supporting future DLC content including additional quests and equipment upgrades. Furthermore, B’z, a Japanese rock band will be creating a brand new track with English lyrics to feature in Dragon’s Dogma.
