While it was teased a few days ago, ATLUS USA have finally made the official announcement that they will be releasing Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena under the title Persona 4 Arena to the Playstation 3 and XBox360 this Summer gaming season to North America (With other regions bound to follow). This game features the entire main cast of Persona 4 along with three characters from Persona 3, and was developed in partnership with Arc System Works who are well respected for their fighting games. Tim Pivnicny, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at ATLUS USA had this to say on the announcement:
The Persona series has had tremendous success in North America, and Persona 4 in particular opened the series up to wider audiences than ever before. Now we’re looking to expand Persona even further by teaming up with a very strong partner, Arc System Works, to move the franchise outside of the RPG genre and develop its potential in new and exciting ways.
This news is exciting, and bound to be a bit hit with fans of the franchise who have been awaiting its release…. and this does give me hope that they will be announcing Persona 4: The Golden for the Playstation Vita sooner rather than later.
