The Otaku’s x Study is a system I introduced in earlier months of last year, where instead of posting big swarms of news articles in one hit I would compile and release on an infrequent basis. As I now do individual news posts now I adapted it in December to be a system where I could review older titles that for whatever reason were not reviewed upon their proper release, resulting in a number of mini-reviews if you would totalling around 500-700 words each and delivering the cold (sometimes) hard facts about about a release.
I have currently limited it to gaming as I have several dozen older series over various consoles that I would love to review – however will also be expanding it to manga series this week, with the first ever installment of The Otaku’s Manga Study, with the intention of digging through my collection and pulling out a random series to review (Around three to five in total). I currently intend on following up two series I part-way reviewed back in 2010 (Bunny Drop Volume 3 and With The Light Volume 3…) but the other titles on the slate shall remain a mystery. As well, I intend on doing Part #7 of The Otaku’s Gaming Study and while there is no set genre unlike the other ones, will involve “A fair bit of console hopping”.
While February in particular is proving to be the Gaming Month of 2012 with the launch of the Playstation Vita and more releases than I can count (Which I intend on reviewing), but for the remainder of this month expect a couple more reviews such as this, along with the Madman Entertainment / Siren Visual anime releases, my diving into a game which hasn’t been recieving all that great an attention recently… “Amy” and some other games I have on the review block!
