The Current “Ultimate” Fiveish Minute Trailer for Hatsune Miku and Future Stars Project Mirai

Uploaded to their Youtube Channel today, SEGA in Japan uploaded a four minute forty-three second trailer for their first Hatsune Miku game off the Playstation Portable – Hatsune Niku and the Future Stars: Project Mirai on the Nintendo 3DS. Starting off with what could very well be called the games opening sequence, it dives right into the action, previewing a number of the different songs included in the game (and different design techniques for the different songs which can be 3D character models, 2D animation or a hybrid of the two), costume change system, the MyRoom functionality that has been in all PSP game releases and more footage of the augmented reality system.

As you can tell, the most noticeable difference from previous installments in the franchise is that they have chosen to adopt the Nendoroid style of character designs over the original Vocaloid designs, which given the console chosen for release is a much more suitable fit. The game is available on the 8th March 2012 in Japan and given past releases there is only a low to moderate chance we will be seeing this picked up anytime soon….
