Unfortunately for anime fans there is nothing much really for you in the first of what hopefully will be many special guest announcements over the coming weeks and months. Supanova is a set of events held around Australia every year and is celebrating its 10th Anniversary this year. It celebrates not only anime but also many other aspects of Pop Culture and usually has a lot of interesting guests doing autographs, photos and panels for fans with upwards of 10,000-20,000+ people attending each event. The first set of guest announcements pertain to the April Supanova events which include Melbourne event held on the 13th – 15th April at the Melbourne Showgrounds and the brand new Gold Coast event being held from the 20th – 22nd April and the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Center. The guests announced are as follows:

They have told us to “expect additional anime, comic-book, gaming, literary guests, and more film/TV stars, to be announced in the coming months.”.

Daniel Zachariou, Founder and Event Director of Supanova had this to say on the announcements:

It really is fantastic to be celebrating our 10thAnniversary by expanding and consolidating as we’ve done throughout our decade long desire to be the best we can be for Australian fans of popular culture as we are pop-culture fans ourselves. That we’ve done so using a team drawn from friends, family and local enthusiasts in not only excellent but extremely gratifying. Each challenge has been embraced by the team and we look forward to once again greeting our Melbourne fans with another awesome event while also introducing the Gold Coast to our brand of fun. The Supanova family is grateful to have had the support of Australian fans for so long, and we’re delighted to be able to reach even more fans this year than ever before.
