While fans of the series will be disappointed, Funimation Entertainment today officially confirmed that all production of future planned Blu-ray releases of Dragon Ball Z, including Level 2.1 which was supposed to be released on the 27th March 2012 have been suspended until an unconfirmed time if ever. Blu-ray editions of the series went into production due to fan demand, however the technical challenges of restoring from the original frame by frame film proved that they were unable to continue the releases through this process.
Funimation have stated they will be re-evaluating the process and with any luck will find a more efficient means of restoration.
