Pokemon is the one of the franchises that has stood the test of time since the ol’ Gameboy “Black and White” days where it was a trading card game and an RPG series with that rather fun Missingno bug that lets be honest… most people used. Over the last few years however it seems to have been more adaptable, jumping between genres in order to cater to different interests. For example we had the two sets of Mystery Dungeon games, the Pokemon Channel (A game that is perhaps more than a “few” years old but an example of one very expensive anime episode) and PokéPark Wii: Pikachu’s Adventure which was released in 2009/2010 featuring a park of Pokemon that sets Pikachu off on a quest to find 14 pieces of the Sky Prism through a platforming adventure quest.
It turns out that this game had been met with a good enough reception that it is now set to recieve a second game titled PokePark 2: Wonders Beyond which is set to be released in late-February. Sure it doesn’t look like it will be as big as Pokemon Snap which tops my list of “Best Pokemon Games” and needs an urgent sequel, but it should appeal to fans of the series.
