Tecmo Koei Europe and Team Ninja have recently revealed the release date of Ninja Gaiden Σ Plus on the Playstation Vita and made it at another launch window title due for release on the 22nd February 2012. Bringing back the gameplay of Ninja Gaiden Plus that was released on the Playstation 3, they have adapted the title to function with the PS Vita’s unique functionalities including the touchscreen, gyro sensor and rear touch bad. Examples provided include the ability to switch between first and third person views, targeting enemies using the gyro sensor and launching stronger Ninpo using the rear touch pad among other additions.
Yosuke Hayashi, Studio head of Team Ninja had this to say on the announcement:
The Ninja Gaiden series lends itself to a great experience on this amazing new platform. We’re confident that gamers, both our fans and those new to the series, will find NINJA GAIDEN SIGMA PLUS to be a thrilling and challenging experience that lives up to the spirit of what the series is best known for while offering a host of new and portable gameplay mechanics.
Also included with this announcement was a batch of screenshots including weapon designs and a bunch of battle previews.
