Media Blasters to Release Fushigi Yugi Boxset in April, Reveal Cover Art.

As you may or may not be aware, Media Blasters recently announced their intentions on releasing the English dubbed version of Fushigi Yugi’s Season One Boxset this coming April. Yesterday on their Facebook wall, they posted the collections brand new cover art which can be seen below and in my opinion looks quite good. This is quite good for fans of the series from North America, as going from the comments on the Facebook wall (As we still have the collection out over here thanks to Madman Entertainment so never really paid attention to its releases in America) some of you were having to spend quite hefty sums of money ($200+) for the previous Geneon Entertainment release. Currently there is no known information on the cost, and a brief look at Right Stuf came up with no hints on the price either.

This release joins several other April 2012 releases by Media Blasters including Kite (Blu-ray), Death Stop Holocaust, Rat Scratch Fever, Female Scorpion, Karate Girl and Zombie 4 – most of which seem to be Live Action releases. Given that Media Blasters recently cut its main staff force by 60%, I am left curious as to how many more of these classic releases will be acquired over new titles such as Squid Girl which might pull bigger profits.
