Kaworu Watashiya’s manga series Kodomo no Jikan has no shortage of controversy in the west. Licensed by Seven Seas Entertainment in 2006 for an initial 2007 release, the series was to be released under the title Nymphet and was seemingly almost ready to go until problems hit and in the end – the series was dropped. The series basic plot is described as follows:
3rd grade teacher Aoki Daisuke didn’t expect the first class he ever taught to be one of the toughest obstacles of his life. After getting off on the wrong foot with the entire class, a moment of kind-heartedness instantly convinces one of his students, Rin Kokonoe, to make the ill-fated Aoki-sensei her lover. But what exactly are Rin’s intentions for wanting to actively seduce Aoki-sensei, and will Aoki-sensei be able to help her to deal with them?
While I am sure some would be raising an eyebrow at this as well having read a bit into it, I think it would be a great series to read on the psychological level but what can you do. But of course this is deviating from the actual purpose of the post but it is always good to throw this bit of information in.

It has been announced that Kaworu Watashiya’s manga series Kodomo no Jikan will be receiving a novelized version which is due for release on the 12th January (or essentially in a fortnight from now). Kaworu Watashiya will not be writing this version (but will be supervising) and instead turning to Rika Nakase who has been a script writer for many series including Princess Tutu, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni and Kodocha. This release is parallel to the 11th volume of the manga being launched also on the 12th January.
