Over the last few weeks we have been teased with a few mysterious hints about GUST’s next big title. With the Ar Tonelico trilogy seemingly over and the future of the Atelier series up in the air for now having completed the third and final installment in the Alchemist’s of Arland franchise, we were left wondering about what their next big thing would be – and according to a few details surfacing from the upcoming Dengeki Playstation (Due for release later this week), is going to be titled Surge Concerto: Ciel no Surge ~Ushinawareta Hoshi e Sasagu Shi~, presumably part of a new series titled Surge Concerto.
The game was claimed to have some online functionality although if it is an online game or just online functionality has yet to be revealed (Given its console, I would go with the latter). The main character is named Ion and is the same one that has appeared subtly through the promotions for the game since late last year. The franchise is not just going to be a single installment, but instead one spreading over multiple consoles (Presumably both Playstation 3 and Playstation Vita) and will take place in the same world but at different points in time or using the infamous parallel universe system. Either way, expect more details later this week, and of course when the game is properly released on the 26th April 2012.
